Kim F. YU, Solicitor

Yu, Kim Fung solicitor graduated in University of London BA (Hons) in psychology. Later on, he studied Laws and MA in Education in The University of Manchester in 1984. After his graduated in the University of Manchester, he came back to Hong Kong for good. In 1992, he awarded with the PCLL certification in The Hong Kong City University. In 1994, he officially became a practice solicitor in Hong Kong. A few years later, Mr. Yu returned back to study at The University of Bristol for further education in Intellectual Property Law in 2003. In 2004, he was awarded with LLM in Laws (Specialized in Technology and Intellectual Property Law) in The Hong Kong University. Mr. Yu is not only sophisticated in Business & Commercial Law in Hong Kong, but also focusing on Intellectual Property Law in Hong Kong and China.
Mr. Yu had worked as a Senior Legal Officer in HK Telecom Group (now known as PCCW) for more than 5 years, responsible for commercial and telecommunication contracts and litigations in Hong Kong. He was exposed to and getting experience in respect of Telecommunication and Technology projects, Government biddings and tenders, including but not limited to bidding telecommunication project in relation to China airports, railway, MTR of Hong Kong, communication Network Under Sea, and the Communication Network of Satellite transmission, the use of landscape, agreement, contract modification, tort and court case. Besides, Mr. Yu worked for Messes Wenping & Co. , an agent of trademark and patent, as an in-house counsel for few years. Mr. Yu have worked as a consultant solicitor in a well-known law firm, Hastings & Co. and Au Yeung, Cheng, Ho & Tin Solicitors for more than 8 years.
Currently, Mr. Yu is one of the founding partners in YSYM firm and also one of the partners in Johnny K K Leung & Co. solicitors for over 15 years. Now Mr. Yu has been the consultant of JKKL and practicing and focusing on Business and Commercial Law, Intellectual Property Rights, and Civil Claims, China related business. Mr. Yu is also a member of the following organisations:
